![]() ![]() Follow up invasions, inquisitorial investigations, pirate hunts, and other mop up operations last for more than a decade after the war in space is essentially over. The imperial navy takes advantage of this to pursue the chaos fleet across the sector in a series of running battles, ultimately chasing the chaos naval assets back to the eye of terror. The chaos advance is blunted when the planetkiller ship is crippled in battle and forced to withdraw, and with its departure the captured blackstone fortress/ships shut down. ![]() ![]() However, the warp storms that so hampered the imperials in the early parts of the war begin to abate, and reinforcements flood into the Gothic sector. While all this is happening, ork and eldar pirates are reaping a hefty tally while the imperial navy is stretched so desperately thin. These fortresses join their firepower together in a previously unknown super attack which destroys a star, obliterating several imperial worlds at once. Ultimately 3 of the 6 blackstones fall to abadon, and to the imperial's horror, activate engines the imperium never knew about. Abadon's fleet initially meets innefectual resistance from imperial forces due to warp storms, and what resistance is offered at the subsector capital worlds collapses when the blackstone fortresses, ancient starbases predating man with far more firepower than anything the imperials can build themselves, suddenly shut down as the chaos fleet approaches. At the heart of the chaos fleet is a giant warship appropriately called the planet killer. Short version: Abadon the Despoiler, warmaster of chaos, launches the 12th black crusade, and invades gothic sector. While the video is a good summary of overall lore, it relates very little to the specific lore around the gothic sector. ![]()
